Using a Real Certificate

Once you are comfortable with using a test certificate, you may wish to use a real certificate for a production environment. There is a slightly different approach from what was described earlier.

You still need to choose which Root CA you will use, it needs to be installed and configured in SmartDashboard. However, instead of using the Verisign Test CA, you will use a globally recognized root CA.

 
Open IE and export out the Root CA certificate that will be signing your request. In the browser go to Tools>Internet Options>Content>Certificates. This time we will be exporting out the certificate to be used on the gateway.
